Tamron keeps on surprising DSLR users with its ultra-zoom lenses with performance levels that once was never though to be possible. Tamron 18-250mm 3.5-6.3 since its first introduction has become one of the most versatile lens (13.8x zoom)for APS-C DSLR cameras while offering image quality that is competing with zoom lenses with less magnification ratios. Surely it has some drawbacks like being slow on the long side, chromatic aberrations in certain situations, etc. but overall I think it is a perfect all-round lens.
Now Tamron takes the ultra-zoom DSLR lenses to next level with the new AF 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical (IF) Macro, taking the world record once again with the 15X zoom, and adding its Vibration Compensation system (VC) in to the game, making it even more attractive for Canon and Nikon users whose bodies lack sensor based Image stabilization.

Tamron 18-270 F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD vs. 18-250 F/3.5-6.3 AF Di-II LD Comparison: |

Below you can find the comparison table for the new FF Nikon DSLR the D700 and Canon's affordable FF DSLR EOS 5D. Despite all the technological advances D700 offers over 5D, I think Canon is still a strong match especially considering the $1200 price difference and the (still) great Canon CMOS sensor.

Just few days after its announcement, we now have enough sample images to evaluate the image quality of the new Nikon D700. Actually since it shares the same image sensor and processor with the Nikon D3, nobody is expecting any surprise from D700. Below are links to some of the best sample images on the web so far:

Nikon D700 shares many components from D3 like the 12.1 megapixel CMOS full-frame sensor, Multi-CAM3500FX Auto Focus sensor and EXPEED image processor but lacks some of the features as expected considering the price difference. But there are also still things you get over D3 like vibration based dust reduction, expanded function button and built-in flash.

Almost 10 months after its first announcement, D300 is still one of the most popular DSLR in the market. One of the factors that supports D300's strong position is that it has no direct competition in its class, being a real Semi-Pro DSLR with advanced features like 8 fps shooting speed, 51-point pro class AF, viewfinder with %100 coverage and many more... It is even comparable, if not better, than the previous Nikon flagship DSLR D2x in many areas and priced approximately 1/3 of its price. This camera deserves attention for sure.
Here in this post we have selected and listed the 25 best Nikon D300 reviews that have been published on the web so far. If you think there are more good D300 reviews that are not listed on this post, please let us know so that we can add that too.

Here we prepared a quick comparison table for the recently announced Canon 1000D / Xs and 450D / Xsi (Canon 400D is also included) to give you an idea about what you get over 400D / Xti and what you miss from 450D / Xsi.
From our first impressions, 1000D seems to be crippled version of 450D / Xsi and priced $200 lower at the same time, which is aiming to compete directly against cameras like Nikon D60,Sony A200 and Olympus E420. Despite the very competitive price, 1000D / Xs still has the Live View advantage over Nikon and Sony. It is not hard to predict that Canon will probably gain back the #1 position in the entry level DSLR market once again with the new 1000D / Xs.

Announced on January 2008, D60 is the latest entry-level DSLR on the Nikon line. It is based on the Nikon D40/D40x with minimal exterior changes and some extra features like Airflow Control System, Image Sensor Cleaning, and a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR kit lens which is very welcomed by the potential users who have also been considering DSLRs like Sony, Olympus and Pentax which have in-body image stabilization system.
Lack of Live View is unfortunately quite a big disadvantage for D60 when compared to entry cameras from other producers like Canon Digital Rebel Xsi / 450D, Sony A300 / A350 or Olympus E-420 / E-520 that have Live View feature. Next generation of D60 cameras will surely have this feature, but until that Nikon has to keep the price in a very competitve level not to lose market on this entry level section.

One of the most important feature of a DSLR for me is the quality and size of its viewfinder. For those of you who has never used a SLR or a full frame DSLR before, these specs may seem insignificant but once you try one of those, I assure you will feel like a new world opens for you through the viewfinder.
A bigger and brighter viewfinder will help you during focusing and a high coverage will make sure your framing is accurate during shooting, and what you see will be what you will get. Besides these advantages, roomy and luminous view through your viewfinder will make your shooting sessions a joy (try to shoot side to side with an Olympus E-500 and a Canon 1Ds Mark III, you will understand what I mean).
No need the mention that a good viewfinder comes with a price, but it is still an important factor while comparing and deciding between DSLR cameras of the same class. Below you can find a comparison table including almost all the DSLR cameras on the market:
