Casio Exhibits 60 fps Digital Camera PDF Print E-mail

Casio has exhibited the prototype of the world’s fastest prosumer digital camera at IFA in Berlin.

 

Casio high speed cam can capture still images at the impressive speed of 60 frames per second at full resolution JPEG (6.0 Megapixel). The new Casio can also record 300 fps VGA-equivalent videos(AVI format) thus making it possible to record ultra-slow motion movies, which is a feature that has only been seen on pro-level cameras before.

Moreover, using a ultra-high speed continuous shooting mode called 'Pre-shot Burst Mode', camera captures images from the scene prior to the moment when you actually press the shutter button, ensuring you never miss 'the moment'.

 

The technical Specifications for the new Casio:

 

  • 6.0 Megapixel 1/1.8" CMOS sensor
  • 35-420mm equivalent 12x zoom lens
  • F2.7 - F4.6, 12 elemnts in 9 groups
  • 60 fps JPEG (full resolution) continious shooting
  • 300 fps VGA video recording
  • sensor-shift image stabilization
  • 2.8" wide-screen TFT LCD, 230K pixel
  • 200K pixel electronic viewfinder
  • 650 g (1.4 lb)
  • 128 x 80 x 130 mm (5.0 x 3.1 x 5.1 in)

We have to mention that this product is still in prototype stage and doesn't even have a name yet. Exact specifications and details are currently not published. While the availability of the product is unknown, Casio reps expects to mass produce this model in the next 2 years.
